“We use a lot of the MM35 Golf sand,” explained Mark. “It is excellent in the bunkers – it’s consistent, clean, and performs really well.”
In addition, Oakmere makes great use of Mansfield Sand’s 50/50 Compost mix. “We use the 50/50 mix for divoting tees and for the divot stations we’ve introduced around the course,” said Mark. “Members can fill up their bags at the stations and repair divots on tees and fairways. Louise is always at the end of the phone, and if she misses a call, she’ll ring me straight back. Ed in the office is also brilliant to deal with. In my opinion, they can’t do enough for you.”
That level of support was particularly evident during a recent construction project at Oakmere. “Last summer we started building a new green and needed rootzone, gravel, and other materials,” Mark recalled. “Whenever I called Louise, to arrange deliveries, confirm tonnages, nothing was too much trouble, even the lorry drivers were helpful. It just works for us.”
