Mansfield Sand walked away with a prestigious award at the recent Mineral Products Association (MPA) Health and Safety Awards 2018.
We were awarded the Safer by Design award for the new Two Oaks Quarry. Members of the MPA who had visited the site were struck by the way in which the company had taken safety to heart at all steps within the design process. A prime example of which is the layout of the plant, allowing traffic to flow in a one-way system right through the site. They also thought the processing plant had taken safe operation and maintenance into account with all plant accessible from platforms with lifting facilities for heavy items designed in.
Richard Abraham, Managing Director said that he thought ‘this is a fantastic achievement for the team that has put the design together and implemented the plan to get us to where we are today. Well done to everyone involved’.
